Weekly Link Roundup for August 12, 2007

Here’s your roundup of my favorite links from food blogs and news for the week ending August 12, 2007:
- While it was the early 80’s for me, I too remember the magic of grape Bubble Yum, recounted this week by the Accidental Hedonist
- Looking to indulge your inner child’s taste buds? Try this fluffernutter cake from Foodaphilia.
- If you’re not sure what you want, maybe the Starbucks Oracle can set you straight.
- Food and Paper raises a excellent question - what do you eat when you’re alone? For me, it’s usually canned pasta — I heart my FrancoAmerican round pasta goodness.
- Apartment Therapy introduces us to the Sapodilla. My weird foods resource bible (1995 edition) lists it as “white sapote” and says that the taste (when ripe) is comparable to a peach-avocado-vanilla blend. Yum.
- An interesting Op-Ed piece in the New York Times looks at the different ways to calculate the carbon footprint of food
- Kitchen Wench shares her research and a recipe for Chinese steamed buns
- Slashfood introduces us to the world of Vegansexuals
- Not Eating Out in New York runs down the craziest kitchen gadgets
That’s all for this week. If you find yummy news or other foodie info online, let me know, and I’ll include it in next week’s roundup.
